Here are a few things I love about Claire (in no particular order)...1. She seems rough and tumble, but is actually quite tender. She is sensitive to verbal reprimand: she constantly loves on her baby sister: and she almost always gives Rory anything she asks for...
2. except for moments when she seeks to get a rise out of her big sister...like when she sneaks up to grab Rory's favorite animal/baby/sister/friend (a white poodle named Sarah).
3. Claire is feisty, a bit daring.
4. She likes to "cook" -- both in her play kitchen and with me (on the kitchen counter).
5. She walks on her tippytoes.
6. Claire pretends to be "dette" (Odette)/Barbie from Swan Lake; this involves her falling to the ground face down, feigning sleep/covering her face with her hands. The present parent then must say, "Odette, wake up," repeatedly.
7. When she dances, she closes her eyes, leans her head back (as if looking at the sky) and flings her arms around while trying to turn in a circle.
8. She is a mimic. Claire perfectly pretends to drink tea or be a kitten.
9. When Claire smiles at you, it is as if you share a secret.
10. I absolutely adore the way she talks, the way she says okay... she says, "help me" when she wants to sit on the counter while I cook (I think because I ask if she would like to help me in the kitchen). Claire calls Elmo, momo; she says "mmmm" for Cookie Monster; she gives her ascent with a "yeaah;" and her "sorry" sounds almost identical to "Rory." Maybe that is significant...
These are just a few of Claire's tendencies and qualities that I am amused by and thankful for.
