This past weekend, the girls experienced their first snow storm. For the entire weekend, the whole family enjoyed the beautiful white wonderland God created. I am amazed at the power of our great God! One moment, the sky is clear and calm; minutes later, a layer of white dusts the ground. Amazing and breathtaking!
To celebrate the wintry weather, Claire, Jane and Rory posed in their matching snowman pajamas (in front of our warm, cozy fire).

As the snow fell, the excitement grew. I bundled all the girls up, and trekked outside. At first, we just chased each other with flying snowballs. Wanting to slow down the pace (as I was the prime target for all flying objects made of snow), the girls and I began to write messages in the snow -- for Daddy (i.e., "I love Daddy" across the sidewalk, windshield, etc.) to find when he came home. Unfortunately, I couldn't snap a picture of this; as the girls thought it hilarious to destroy any words, anywhere.
Jane shows the attitude behind the afore-mentioned activity...

After I proved that laying in the snow was actually fun, the girls plopped down and spread their wings, so to speak.

Rory's fabulous snow angel!

The following day, the snow had frozen. As a result, we were able to "skate" across our yard and eat frozen snow/icicles.
Jane chooses a larger portion...

Claire daintily enjoys her sliver of ice.

Rory displays her frozen treat.

The fam takes a walk through our neighborhood; Michael leads the way. I bring up the rear.

Then, Daddy attempts to body surf down our hill. Sadly, his efforts failed.

No adventure, however, is complete without injury. As we were clearing snow from our vehicles, a shard of the snow/ice mix hit Jane in the face. Thankfully, only her nose was injured. A little Neosporin and a Barbie band-aid made the boo-boo feel far better.

Now, our white wonderland is melting. As quickly as God brought the wintry weekend upon us, He is taking it away. The sun shone bright, the ice turned to slush and we happily took our gloves and hats off.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1
Thank you, Lord, for the beauty in what you have made.
