Full Hands

Often, when I am out with the girls, people will comment, "You really have your hands full!" In fact, this is so common, that Rory took notice and said, "Mommy, lots of people tell you your hands are full."

At first, this struck me as humorous... and then, profound. My hands are not simply full, they are overflowing. In 1 Corinthians 4: 7, Paul asks, "What do you have that you did not receive?" If then you RECEIVED (emphasis mine) it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?" I look at my blessed life, and see what I have received from my gracious Lord -- 3 precious girls, my best friend/husband, our home, a church that longs to be a beautiful bride for Christ, dear friends, and perhaps, most treasured, God's Word. I earned none of these. Each is a tender mercy, a kind gift from the Giver of all good things -- God.

And, I can proclaim (with Paul), "Already you (I) have all you (I) want! Already you (I) have become rich!" The God of the Universe has saved me! He loves me. He protects me. He molds me. What more could I desire?
